Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data the Syrian Digital Economy Map collects, why, how it is kept and who can see it. The platform is a project of the Directorate of Digital Economic Transformation at the Ministry of Economy and Industry, which is responsible for processing the data it holds.

01

What we collect

From visitors: no personal data is required to browse. Our servers record the IP address, browser type and time of each request in technical logs, used only for security and rate limiting.

From companies applying to join: company name and description, governorate, city and address, public contact channels (WhatsApp, phone, email, website, social accounts), founding year, primary sector and specialties, and the licensing authority and licence number where applicable.

Private data that is never published: the commercial register number, the commercial register PDF, and the contact person's name and phone number.

02

Why we collect it

To verify that a company is legally registered and licensed in Syria before showing it on the map with the verified badge.

To display the company's public details on the map and in the directory so that people and investors can reach it.

To contact the company about its application or to update its details.

To produce aggregate statistics on how the digital economy is distributed across governorates and sectors, without identifying any single entity.

03

Who can see it

The public details of verified companies are available to everyone on the site. That is the purpose of the platform.

Private data is seen only by the review team at the Directorate of Digital Economic Transformation and is not shared outside the Ministry except as required by law.

We do not sell data or provide it to any third party for marketing.

04

Retention

A verified company's data is kept for as long as it is listed on the map and is updated through the Directorate.

Rejected or incomplete applications are kept for no longer than one year for review purposes and then deleted.

Technical server logs are deleted automatically within ninety days.

05

Cookies and local storage

The site uses no tracking cookies and no third-party analytics.

Language is determined by the page URL, and nothing is stored in your browser beyond what is technically required for the site to work.

06

Security

Data travels over an encrypted connection, and commercial register files are stored in a location that is not publicly accessible.

The application form is protected by a verification mechanism computed in your browser without any external service, so your data is never sent to a third party.

07

Your rights

Every company has the right to access the data held about it, to request correction or update, and to request removal from the map.

Requests are submitted to the Directorate of Digital Economic Transformation through the contact channels published on the Digital Economy Platform and are answered within a reasonable time.

08

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when the service or legislation changes. The date of the last update appears at the top of the page, and continued use of the site after an update constitutes acceptance.

This is a preliminary draft pending approval by the Legal Department of the Ministry of Economy and Industry.
